1). UGA COSTA RICA
UGA Costa Rica is still accepting applications for the 10-week Fall Semester program in Costa Rica: Land, Language, and Culture.
This progam offers introductory through 3010 Spanish, introductory and environmental sociology (Prof. Dean Rojek), geography (Prof. David Leigh), linguistics (Prof. Peter Jorgensen), organic agriculture (Profs. Carl Jordan and Sarah Workman), and introduction to plant diversity (Prof. David Porter) -- from 12 to 18 hours of credits in core and upper-level elective courses. UGA Costa Rica has five, $1,000 scholarships available for this program. Scholarship and program application deadline is June 30, 2007.
2). ANTARTICA STUDY ABROAD
Antarctica study abroad program, Fall, 2007: This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the coldest, windiest, driest, highest, quietest, most remote, and least understood continent on Earth.
After a Fall semester of once-a-week, 2-hour, evening webcasts (flexible times/dates), you will spend two weeks (Dec 26 - January 7) aboard an expedition cruise ship to the Antarctic Peninsula and Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. Six semester credits available and program cost is $6295.
