Just a little clarification on the position announcement I just sent out.
Because of the state budget we were not able to hire to replace people
retiring until just a few day ago. Because of the timing it is going to be
a quick hire which means we can not hire a tenure track position at this
time. The visiting position is for two years and during that second year we
will do the full tenure track search for this position. Teaching experience
is very important and the person hired will be replacing a faculty member
that currently teaches Human genetics, molecular genetics, virology, and
cancer biology. Someone that can fill the greatest number of these courses
would be the best fit but the main course we need to have the person teach
is the human genetics course because it is the second course students take
in our cell and molecular biology curriculum.
Please pass this on to any graduate students or post-docs that may be
interested in gaining more teaching experience. Missouri State University
is the second largest state university in Missouri and it is predominately
an undergraduate institution. The Biomedical Sciences Department contains
the Cell and Molecular Biology program (both undergraduate and Masters
