International Student Life events
1. International Coffee Hour will be held again this Friday, August 25,
from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Memorial Hall Ballroom.  The admission
is free.  UNICEF and Rhedema are the sponsors for this week's coffee

2.  Welcome back to UGA!  Leigh Poole, the new International Student
Advisor for the ISL office is thrilled to be working at UGA, and is very
excited about getting to know all of you as we strive to further
internationalize the UGA campus this year!  A meeting for organizational
leaders and all World Ambassadors will be held on Tuesday, August 29, at
6:30 p.m. in the Student Tate Center, Room 137.  This meeting is very
important as we will discuss events, monthly meetings and budgets.

3. A Harvest Dance will air on UGA Channel 15 Tuesday, August 22 at 8:00
p.m.,  Sunday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23 and
Sunday, September 24  at 7:00 p.m.  A Wedding Dance will air Thursday,
August 28 at 8:00 p.m, Wednesday, September 27 at 8:30 p.m., Saturday,
September 30 and Sunday, October 1.  This series is being sponsored by
the African Student Union.

Other University Events
1. The Library will host an international student orientation and tour
Today, August 22 from 3:30 to 5:00 in the Electronic Classroom B, in the
Main Reference and Room 382 in the Science Library.

2. The International Student Outreach (ISO) is inviting ALL
international students and their families to the "Welcome to the South"
dinner on Friday, September 1 at 6:00 p.m.  The dinner will be in the
Tate Student Center in the Georgia Hall (first floor).  THIS IS IS A
FREE DINNER FOR INTERNATIONALS.  ISO will provide "Southern" food, music
and a dance team will perform.  Children's activities will also be
available.  A short Christian message will be shared.  So come join them
for a great evening!  Welcome to the South!!

3.  The Georgia Museum Art is pleased to announce the re-opening of
Figgie's Cafe, now under the management of Jaynes Gourmet Groceries.
The cafe will also feature a full gourmet coffee menu from the Java
Rocket.  All UGA students will receive a 10% discount.  New hours are
8:30 am-4:00 pm Monday through Friday and 10 am-4 pm on Saturday.  Stop
by the museum for lunch or a snack and stroll through the galleries!

4.  On Saturday, August 26, the Georgia Museum of Art will host Family
Day: Make It BIG! from 10 a.m. until noon.  This is an opportunity for
friends and family to view the exhibition Large Drawings from the
Arkansas Art Center Foundation.  This exhibition features 40 of the
center's best examples of 20th-century works, all with dimensions
exceeding 40 inches, with some works in the exhibition exceeding heights
of seven feet.  After viewing the exhibition, participants will gather
in the classroom to make their own large-scale drawings to take home.
Refreshments will be served.  All museum family days are fee.  For more

5. An Open House Meeting is being held on Friday, August 25, at the
Baptist Center, 450 South Lumpkin Street, (also known as the Baptist
Student Union - BUS) for all persons interested in participating in a
conversational English class.  The meeting starts at 3:45 p.m.  For
