Studying Abroad this Summer

If you are studying abroad this summer on a non-UGA program and have
already turned in your Credit Approval Form, you will have a flag put on
your record to indicate that you will be abroad. This is not a bad flag;
it's just a placeholder for your hours until your transcript arrives. If
you will also be taking a course on campus this summer (or need to drop
one) and need to enter the registration system for summer term to add or
drop a course, please call Lindsey Parsons at 542-7903 to have your flag
temporarily removed. If you wish to enter the registration system for fall
registration, the flag for summer should not affect you.

Also, if you will be using a different e-mail this summer, please send that
to Lindsey Parsons ([log in to unmask]) with your name and student ID so that
we can keep in touch with you while you are abroad.

Submissions Sought for Online Newspaper

The Global Pulse <http://www.theglobalpulse.com> is an online newspaper
offering alternative cultural perspectives to be read in conjunction with
international headline stories from current newspapers and television news
programs. The are looking for personal-perspective articles which move
beyond the stuffy parameters set by traditional news agencies. Articles are
NOT intended to be a comprehensive cultural analysis, but rather focus on a
single event or cluster of events that share a common theme, such as what's
happening in the streets, what you heard eavesdropping on conversations,
what the fruit vendor is saying, the university professor, the local
artist. They also encourage photos to be sent with stories. For the full
announcement on submissions, please reply to this e-mail.
