International Photo Contest Reception

All students are invited to the International Photo Contest Reception
hosted by the Student Council on Globalization. It will be held on Oct. 29
in 215B Barrow Hall at 6:30 p.m. Prizes for the winners will be awarded at
the reception and refreshments will be served. If you submitted a photo and
end up winning a prize, but are unable to attend, you will be contacted to
pick up your prize.

Students who Studied Abroad Needed for Survey

A colleague from another university is doing a survey and needs
participants that fit the following criteria:
1) You must have lived in a foreign country (any country) for a minimum of
4 months.
2) You must also have returned home from your experience abroad within the
past 2 years.
3) You must still be currently living in your "home country" that you
returned home to after your experience abroad.
4) You have not previously participated in this study.
They want to know whether you experienced any challenges as well as the
things you discovered about yourself upon returning home. The internet
survey takes only 15-30 minutes (maximum) to complete. If you would like to

"The Early Community:  From Abyssinia to the Hijra", speaker, Dr. Kenneth
Honerkamp, Professor of Religion, University of Georgia. Wednesday, October
23, 2002, at 5:30 pm in the ISL Memorial Hall Lounge.  Come enjoy Middle
Eastern dessert and tea!  Sponsored by the Muslim Student Association.

Come join ISL for this week's Coffee Hour!  Our host this Friday will be
the Athens Oconee Junior Woman's Club.  Coffee Hour is on October 25, at
11:30 am - 1:30 pm in the Memorial Hall Ballroom. Free food, lemonade and

Join ISL as we celebrate National International Education Week, November
18-22.  We will be hosting Tea Talk on Monday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, Nov.
19.  Around the World in Tatey Days will be on Wednesday, Nov. 20.  Global
Friends will celebrate Thanksgiving with a traditional meal (free of
charge) at Aunt Bea's restaurant, and Friday's Coffee Hour will be hosted
by the Taiwan Student Association.  Be on the lookout for other upcoming
