The Office of International Education is seeking an Undergraduate
Student Representative to the UGA Study Abroad Risk Management Review Board.

The Risk Management Board is composed of members who represent various
facets of the University. The Board's primary responsibilities are to:
(1) review approval requests for new study abroad or exchange programs
if the location or the nature of the program is deemed to pose greater
than usual hazards to UGA students; (2) review existing programs for
risk management concerns (every three years); (3) recommend suspension
or relocation of existing programs due to changes in conditions in a
country; (4) provide emergency response in the event of an incident
involving a UGA student or students on a UGA international program; and
(5) develop UGA policies for study abroad programs.

The appointment of this undergraduate representative will begin
immediately and it is expected that the student be available for service
through May 2004. This term may be renewed for additional years of
service. The Risk Management Review Board meets approximately four times
during the academic year.
