SCHOLARSHIPS

STARS WORK STIPENDS:
The Office of International Education is still looking for ONE more
STARS student. STARS (Students Abroad with Regents Support) Work
Stipends help support UGA students planning to study abroad in Spring
2005, Summer 2005 and the 2005-06 academic year.
--APPLICATION DEADLINE:  December 2, 2004
--STARS Award:  Work 71 hours for the Office of International Education
during the spring 2005 semester and earn $500 toward the cost of your
study abroad program
--Eligibility:  Any student who is planning to study abroad in Summer
2005 or the 2005-2006 academic year can apply for the STARS work stipend
--TO APPLY:  Download the STARS application from the OIE website at
http://www.uga.edu/oie/sagensch.htm and submit to the Office of
International Education.  Additional study abroad scholarship
information is also available on-line.

SIT/SCHOOL FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP:
Application Deadline:  December 6, 2004
Award:  To be determined based on number of applicants
Eligibility:  UGA students participating in a study abroad program
through the School for International Traning during the Spring 2005 semester
TO APPLY:  Pick-up a Copy of the Green Study Abroad Scholarship
Application form from the Study Abroad Library, 203F Barrow Hall

CZECH REPUBLIC PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP:
Application Deadline:  December 6, 2004
Award:  To be determined based on number of applicants
Eligibility:  UGA students participating in a UGA or external study
abroad program in the Czech Repbulic
TO APPLY:  Pick-up a Copy of the Green Study Abroad Scholarship
Application form from the Study Abroad Library, 203F Barrow Hall

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CONFERENCE

In early 2005 the Higher Colleges of Technology will host over 700
students from around the world at the "e-ducation Without Borders"
conference in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The conference theme is 'E-learning through the eyes of the world:
responsible development and desired role." The conference will feature a
blend of academic presentations, inspirational addresses and external
activities. Also students will have the opportunity to present academic
papers concerning education and technology.

THIS WEEK'S UGA-EXCHANGE PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT

Here's a great opportunity to study abroad in Wales, United Kingdom for
the Spring 2006 Semester at the University of Wales - Aberystwyth.

The University of Wales, Aberystwyth provides an excellent opportunity
for over 7,000 students to live and study in Wales and offers a wide
range of subjects.  Course subject options include Agriculture,
