International Street Festival rescheduled in Memorial Hall at UGA
The festival, original
planned for early April in downtown
Many door prizes and giveaways will be available from sponsoring businesses. These include a $1,000 kayak and accessories from Perception Kayaks, gift certificates for martial arts lessons from Athens Tae Kwon Do, and hundreds of dollars in restaurant gift certificates.
There is no cost to attend the International Street Festival nor to participate in any of its activities, performances, or prize drawings.
Visitors will have an opportunity to collect “passport” stamps from each of the countries represented; those who collect all available stamps will receive a ticket for a prize drawing.
Children’s activities will allow young guests to color international paper dolls, to create their own flags, to craft African necklaces and headdresses, and to hear stories of children from around the world.
“The Street Festival has come to mean so much to so many people that we felt a strong commitment to reschedule,” says ISL Coordinator Leigh Poole.
