FREEMAN-ASIA SCHOLARSHIP

Description:  The Freeman-ASIA Award Program is designed to
support American undergraduates with demonstrated financial
need who are planning on studying overseas in East or
Southeast Asia.  Freeman-ASIA award benefits are determined
by the length of the program and the financial need of the
grantee.

Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens or permanent
residents at time of application.  Must currently receive
Need-Based Financial Aid or demonstrate through FAFSA a
verifiable need for financial assistance to study abroad in
Asia. Applicants must have little or no previous experience
in the country in which they plan to study. (must not have
spent more than 4 weeks in proposed country of study within
last 5 years)  Freeman-ASIA Award Program grantees are
expected to share their experiences with their home campuses
to encourage study abroad in Asia by others, and to spread
greater understanding of Asian peoples and cultures within
their home communities.

BUTLER UNIVERSITY, INSTITUTE FOR STUDY ABROAD UGA STUDENT
SCHOLARSHIP

Description:  Scholarships up to $1000 available for UGA
students participating in a study abroad program through the
Institute for Study Abroad, Butler University.  IFSA study

HONORS PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTATION

The Honors Program will present an information session on
major scholarships on Wednesday, April 19 from 3:45-4:45
p.m. in the UGA Chapel. The presentation will include a
discussion of the role of major collegiate and postgraduate
scholarships in students' academic and professional
development as well as overviews of the Fulbright, Gates-
Cambridge, Goldwater, Marshall, National Security Education
Program, National Science Foundation, Rhodes, and Truman
scholarships.

Students should have a GPA of 3.70 or higher to be
competitive for these scholarships. The program is free and
open to both Honors and non-Honors students.

ON CAMPUS JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR BILINGUAL STUDENTS

CLACS (Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies) is
looking for a Spanish-English bilingual undergraduate or
graduate student intern for web maintenance of the CLACS
site.  Candidate should be experienced in use of macromedia
MX -Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks. The candidate will
mainly have to routinely update CLACS web page and make some
design changes as the new undergraduate major in Latin
American and Caribbean Studies comes online and grows.

The position would have flexible hours, 5-10 hours per week
at $10/hour.

International Street Festival is TOMORROW!

International Street Fest is a free event held every spring
and sponsored by International Student Life, to celebrate
and educate the Athens community about international culture
and customs.

This year’s street fest will be held:

In support of the year of study abroad, AustraLearn will
grant over $15,000 in airline ticket
assistance to its students studying abroad anytime between
May and September 2006.

*** A student who studies abroad for a semester/year
beginning in July or September 2006 at any of AustraLearn's
29 member Universities is eligible to win $1500 financial
assistance. ***

in July is April 15, 2006, except for Bond University. Bond
deadlines are February 15 for May start and June 15 for
