Teachers,
The spring semester is officially
underway, and the 2007 Leadership Conferences are near. Below you will find
information regarding each of the conferences. If you have any questions, please
feel free to contact me.
Discovery Conference & Greenhand
Jamboree
The Discovery Conference and the
Greenhand Jamboree are great opportunities for young members to discover what
the FFA has to offer. These conferences will be held on
March 2-3,
2007 in
conjunction with the Success Conference, at the
Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center near
Covington. Students should plan to wear casual
dress for the entire conference. The conference fee is $40 per person. That
fee includes meals, lodging, conference t-shirt, and conference materials.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities.
The Discovery Conference is open to students in grades 6-8, and the Greenhand
Jamboree is for ninth grade students. In order to offer quality conferences,
these conferences are limited to a combined total of 250
students.
Success Conference
The Success
Conference is an opportunity for 10-12th grade FFA members. It will
be held in conjunction with the Discovery Conference and the Greenhand Jamboree
on March 2-3,
2007. The objective of this conference will
be to focus on personal development, character, decision-making, and goal
setting. The program will be conducted by three of the state FFA officers, and
is sure to be a positive experience for older FFA members. The registration
cost for the Success Conference is $40 per person. That fee includes meals,
lodging, a conference t-shirt and conference materials. Students attending
the Success Conference will need to bring Official FFA Dress as well as casual
dress for the weekend. NOTE: Official dress will be worn during the
entire Success Conference with the exception of the dance/recreation time
Friday night. To ensure a quality
conference, there will be a 200 student limit.
Every person attending the conferences
must be pre-registered. All pre-registration material, including a $10 per
person non-refundable deposit, is due to
the FFA Office postmarked by February 13,
2007.
Registration will be
accepted on a first come, first served basis. Any pre-registration
material postmarked after February 13 will be charged a $10 per person late fee,
or may not be accepted. No pre-registration will be accepted by email,
fax, or over the telephone.
Registration for the conferences will
begin on Friday, March 2, at 4:30 p.m. Supper will be served at
6:00 p.m. and the first session will start at
6:45 p.m. Both conferences will conclude by
noon on Saturday, March 11.
Attached you will find a registration
form for each of the conferences as well as a flyer for each that you may hang
up or give to your students.
I look forward to seeing you in March!
