FREEMAN-ASIA SCHOLARSHIP

The primary goal of Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-ASIA) is to increase the number of U.S. undergraduates who study in East and Southeast Asia, by providing them with the information and financial assistance they will need.

Eligibility: Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents at time of application.   Must currently receive Need-Based Financial Aid or demonstrate through FAFSA a verifiable need for financial assistance to study abroad in Asia. Applicants must have little or no previous experience in the country in which they plan to study. (must not have spent more than 4 weeks in proposed country of study within last 5 years)   Freeman-ASIA Award Program grantees are expected to share their experiences with their home campuses to encourage study abroad in Asia by others, and to spread greater understanding of Asian peoples and cultures within their home communities.

Application Deadline for study in Summer 2007:  March 7, 2007

Application Deadline for study in Fall 2007-Spring 2008:  April 4, 2007

UNO INNSBRUCK AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIP

Description:   The University of Georgia, The University of New Orleans and it's International Summer School believe strongly that the European educational experiences should be made available to as many qualified students as possible.

To this end, a limited number of Ambassador Awards will be made to available UGA undergraduate students who exhibit high academic achievement, can clearly demonstrate financial need and whose academic plans would benefit from program participation.

Eligibility:  Applicants must be a continuing undergraduate, full or part-time, currently enrolled at UGA and have completed at least 1 year of college.   Minimum GPA 3.0. Students must include an official transcript, 2 letters of recommendation, essay/statement of purpose, and demonstrate financial need.

ISA (INTERNATIONAL STUDIES ABROAD) SCHOLARSHIP

Unsure of how to finance your study abroad program? ISA awards $45,000 in scholarships each year to summer, semester and academic year program participants as follows:

       10 x $1,000 for Summer Study

       4 x $2,500 for Academic Year Study

       10 x $1,000 for Fall Study

       10 x $1,000 for Winter/Spring Study

 

In order to apply for these awards, students must meet the following criteria:
