I am attaching the obituary for Marcus Daws.  Mr. Daws was an outstanding
agriculture teacher in Northwest Georgia for a number of years.  Please
keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Family-Placed Death Notice

DAWS, Marcus MARCUS T. DAWS Mr. Marcus Thomas Daws, age 82, of
Douglasville, GA passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009. He was born April
14, 1926 in Social Circle, GA son of the late Alvin and Louise Daws. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Howell
Daws. He graduated from Social Circle High School in Walton County, was a
graduate of the University of Georgia, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II
serving in the Pacific Theater, a member of the Rockmart Kiwanis Club,
where he served as President for many years and a member of the John W.
Akin #537 Masonic Lodge of Taylorsville, GA. Marcus's career as an
educator spanned over 30 years. He worked for 20 years as a teacher in the
Polk County School System, then moved to Douglas County in 1971 to open
the Vocational School at Douglas County Comprehensive High School. He
later retired as the Director of Vocational Education for the Douglas
County School System, and then continued for 13 years with the Georgia
State Department of Education. He was a member of the District IV Retired
Vocational Agriculture Educators and the Douglas County Retired Educators
Association. Marcus was a dedicated servant of our Lord serving as a
deacon and Sunday School teacher for 47 years and a member of Heritage
Baptist Church in Douglasville, GA, where he was a member of the
Fellowship Men's Class. In his retirement years, he enjoyed travel with
his Sam's RV Travel Club, golfing, car racing, reading, gardening and
spending time with his beloved family and friends. Marcus is survived by
his wife, Hazel Daws; children, Tommy Daws, Sandra and Zack Fisher, and
Wanda Smith; grandson, Alex Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and
Ruth Daws; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Don Garner; numerous
nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on
Friday, April 3, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will
be Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Rosehaven Chapel with
Reverend Doug Harris and Reverend Cecil Clegg officiating. Interment will
follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Flowers accepted or donations may be
made to Heritage Baptist Church, 8800 Rose Avenue, Douglasville, GA 30134.
