Georgia FFA Alumni set to kick-off Harvest for America Food Drive

The Georgia FFA Alumni and Georgia FFA will hold the Harvest for America Food Drive on Thurs., April 22 during the Georgia FFA Convention. FFA members and FFA Alumni affiliates are asked to donate canned goods that will be donated to the Macon Area Community Food Bank. The FFA Chapter that brings the most cans to the 2010 Georgia FFA State Convention will receive one Washington Leadership Conference scholarship valued at $550.To participate, local chapters need only to bring as many
cans of food as possible to Macon. All canned food must be dropped off in the Alumni area outside of the Career Show in Exhibit Hall from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thurs., April 22. Again this year, chapters are encouraged to bring jars of Peanut Butter as part of their donation. The FFA Advisor or alumni representative should complete the necessary form to let us know how many canned food items are donated from your FFA chapter and alumni affiliate. Donations are also accepted. So please spread the word to people in your community that may like to donate.

The hours FFA members spend on the project can be submitted to the Million Hour Challenge initiative for service learning. The MHC project deadline is October 1.
