Connecting food, garden and nutrition education into the classroom experience

Wednesday, July 28 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at Mary Lin Elementary School in Atlanta

Limited to 20 educators. Register here to reserve your space.

Got an edible school garden, but not sure how to connect it to the curriculum? Want to figure out how to teach kids about where food comes from?  Wish you could brainstorm Farm to School with like-minded educators? This workshop is for you!

This  hands-on workshop will teach you how to incorporate gardening, food and outdoor education across the curriculum to improve student achievement, increase student focus, and foster respect for the environment.  This workshop provides K- 5 educatorswith the opportunity to participate in hands-on outdoor classroom/garden and food based activities, learn about the Farm to School program, and plan a classroom mini-unit to use in the Fall semester. This workshop will be taught by educators Lindsay Wyczalkowski, Nichole Lupo, Ashley Rouse and Erin Croom.

Note: Participation by two or more educators from the same school is beneficial for collaboration, and will create a strong support system for implementing gardening into instruction. After school and other non-formal educators are invited to participate as well.

$45 members/$50 non-members

Included in registration fee:
·    1 PLU upon completion of workshop
·     Naturalist's Journal
