This hands-on workshop will teach you how to incorporate gardening, food and outdoor education across the curriculum to improve student achievement, increase student focus, and foster respect for the environment. This workshop provides K- 5 educatorswith the opportunity to participate in hands-on outdoor classroom/garden and food based activities, learn about the Farm to School program, and plan a classroom mini-unit to use in the Fall semester. This workshop will be taught by educators Lindsay Wyczalkowski, Nichole Lupo, Ashley Rouse and Erin Croom.
Note: Participation by two or more educators from the same school is beneficial for collaboration, and will create a strong support system for implementing gardening into instruction. After school and other non-formal educators are invited to participate as well.
