* * *GAC Bill Baisley scholarship now available for students*

COMMERCE, Ga. –The Georgia Agribusiness Council (GAC) is pleased to announce
applications for the third annual William C. “Bill” Baisley “Sumpin Big”
Scholarship Program are now available.  The $1000 scholarship is offered to
a student studying for an agricultural career at a college in Georgia that
is in need of financial assistance.

Bill Baisley has been, and remains, a trusted leader, friend and encouraging
mentor for the food and agricultural sector. He serves on the GAC Board of
Directors and is a Trustee for the AgriTrust of Georgia self-insured
worker’s compensation program.  Bill used the phrase “sumpin big” as a way
to move ideas forward. GAC is proud to honor him with this scholarship and
looks forward to providing financial assistance to student pursing a career
in agriculture.

Scholarship applications are available on the GAC website at or by contacting GAC Member Services Representative

are due by November 1, 2010.  The scholarship will be presented during the
2010 GAC Harvest Celebration event set for Friday, November 19, 2010 at the
Cobb Galleria Centre.

Previous winners include Jessica Padgett (2008) and Joshua Norton (2009).

Georgia food and fiber production and processing agribusiness is a $65
billion industry, accounting for more than 8% of the state’s economy and
351,000 jobs in 2008.  The GAC, a non-profit organization, serves as the
voice for Georgia’s massive, complex business of agriculture.  The Council’s
mission is “To advance the business of agriculture through economic
development, environmental stewardship and education to improve the quality
