Students, please note the below; faculty and staff, please pass on to your students and advisees. Note the early internal deadline - February 21st.

As part of UGA's many on-going initiatives in China, and in line with the Obama administration's goal of 100,000 American students studying in China over the next few years, the Office of International Education is very pleased to announce that UGA has received two full-year fellowships for UGA students and recent graduates to student in China. These are funded by the Chinese Scholarship Council.

The Chinese Scholar Council Fellowships are open to non-Chinese citizens, under 25, in good health, with some background in Chinese language. The funding pays for one year of study (2011-12) in China at a university selected from an approved list: registration and tuition fees, most laboratory and internship fees, one time "settlement subsidy" after the student is registered in courses; most books/learning materials, accommodation, living allowance (CNY 1400 Yuan/month), insurance, and one inter-city train ticket within China.

Further details on eligibility, items covered by the funding, and the application process may be found here. Please note that the UGA internal deadline is February 21st.
