It is time to start preparing for the 84th Georgia FFA Convention. The convention will be held April 26-28, 2012, in Macon. This email and the State Convention page on the Georgia FFA website (www.georgiaffa.org) should provide all of the information that you need to make your convention plans.


Planning Guide

The Advisors Planning Guide can be downloaded as a PDF file by going to www.georgiaffa.org and selecting the State Convention tab. Along with the Planning Guide the State Convention website houses a variety of information concerning the 84th Georgia FFA Convention.  We hope the information included will help make your members’ convention experience the best ever.  Please take time to examine this information carefully.  Many special activities are planned in conjunction with this year’s convention, including Day of Service opportunities and the Convention concert.

The Georgia FFA has arranged contracts with several hotels in Macon. A complete list of FFA Convention hotels and their contracted rates can be found in the Advisors Planning Guide. Please notice that each hotel has a deadline to book rooms at the FFA rate.

NOTE: The Marriott hotel that connects to the Convention Center is already near full on the FFA room block. Many of you booked early with that hotel. If you want to stay at the Marriott and have not made reservations, you should act quickly!



New this year is a registration fee of $250 per chapter.  Regardless of the number people (FFA members, advisors, Alumni, administrators, etc…) a chapter brings, the fee is $250 to register for the convention. Please pay particular attention to the April 2, deadline for the convention registration. Chapters are expected to complete the online registration process to provide attendance numbers, purchase concert tickets and sign up for Service activities. At 5:00 p.m. on April 2, the online registration site will close. All registration done after April 2, will be handled on-site registration, and will be subject to a $50 late fee per chapter.  Chapters will receive an invoice via email following completion of the online registration process. Payment should be postmarked by April 6. Payments postmarked after April 6, are subject to the $50 late fee.  


For those who cannot attend the entire convention, they are covered in your chapter’s registration fee. Each chapter is encouraged to bring FFA members, Alumni members and school administrators to the Convention.


Convention Concert

The convention concert will take place on Friday, April 27, and is for registered convention attendees only. Concert tickets are available for $15 each through the online convention registration process. Concert tickets will be available at onsite registration in Macon for $20.


Talent  & Courtesy Corp Applications

A talent application and courtesy corps application are posted on the State Convention website. Talent and Courtesy Corp Applications are due to the State FFA Office by March 1.  Please encourage your students to take advantage of these opportunities. 


Medical Forms

FFA medical forms are available on the State Convention site. Please bring a completed medical form for each student with you to the State Convention. In the case of an emergency, it will be helpful for you and our convention staff to have emergency medical information about each student.
