The Chinese Scholar Council Fellowships are open to non-Chinese citizens, under 25, in good health, with some background in Chinese language. The two selected individuals will be required to turn in all materials, as well as fill out an on-line form BY 5:00 ON THURSDAY, March 29th. 11. Applications Open for International Street Festival 2012!
The International Street Festival Planning Committee and ISL are gearing up for the 2012 International Street Festival, which takes place in downtown Athens on Saturday, April 14th, 2012 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

We are excited to announce that the application for Table Displays and the application for Performances at the 2012 International Street Festival are now open!

If your organization is interested in having a table display space at this exciting event, please fill out the Table Display application form through this Google Doc link, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGRQbHB2c3l5c0F5UDVSbnFVVTdCWXc6MQ

If your organization is interested in performing at International Street Festival, please fill out the Performance application form through this Google Doc link:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?pli=1&formkey=dEV1WC1UODViQTlweW8zSWRwOWU5WlE6MQ#gid=0.

There are three ways that you can perform at Street Festival:

1) On-stage or off-stage performance

These performances can include a large variety of performances ranging from traditional dances to bands to martial arts demonstrations or any other performance related to your organization.

2) Fashion show

This fashion show will allow groups to exhibit clothing representative of their cultural group. It will be comprised of a variety of countries and require a minimum commitment.

3) “Staged” Dance-off

The “Staged” Dance-off is intended to allow for an opportunity for organizations to interact and hold an “impromptu” dance-off during street fest. It will incorporate cultural music from those participating and ideally end with a group number. This is nothing too serious, but an opportunity for organizations to collaborate.

None of these are exclusive of the others and feel free to indicate interest in participating in all three. If you are submitting an application for Performances feel free to indicate interest in the appropriate areas of the form. If you are only interested in peformance options #2 (Fashiong Show) and #3 (Staged Dance-Off), please email the Peformance Commitee Co-Chairs at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> and [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

Please note that there are two application forms – one for Table Displays and one for Performances. The deadline for all table display and performance requests is Monday, March 19, 2012, at 5pm. By submitting these applications, you/ your organization are indicating your interest in participating at International Street Festival 2012 on April 14, 2012 between 12-5pm. There is no promise that all applications will be given a performance slot or table display space.

Questions?

For table display questions, please contact Weiyi Zhang, Committee Chair for Table Displays, at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

For performance questions, please contact Olakekan Kamau-Nataki ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) and Dongdi Grace Gu ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>), Performance and Entertainment Committee Co-Chairs
