Please see the note below concerning the National FFA Scholarship program. Remember, the online scholarship application process is due February 15.
Dear State FFA Staff:
The deadline for students to submit a 2013 Scholarship Application is 5:00 p.m. EST February 15, 2013. As mentioned in previous correspondence, National FFA instituted important changes in connection to member eligibility and how students access the application.
The Agricultural Career Network (AgCN) serves as the new registration platform through which students will apply for scholarships. Students must create an account in AgCN using the information contained in their personalized invitations in order to access to the 2013 Scholarship Application link. (High school seniors and collegiate members who created AgCN accounts last year can login at www.ffa.org and access the application.)
Advisors must have their rosters in AgCN and select a renewal type for members prior to generating invitations. Students must have an active one, three or four year, locally approved membership record in the AgCN prior to their advisor generating an invitation (Print/Reprint Invitation button located under “Active Member” field on the Roster Add/Renew page). Please remind your Advisors to submit their rosters to state also.
Membership status will be checked before judging begins. National FFA will no longer contact states during judging to confirm status. Only students with a current, active one, three or four year nationally approved membership record in the AgCN will be eligible to compete for scholarships. The deadline to ensure active nationally approved membership is March 1, 2013.
Under no circumstances should an FFA member EVER create an account in the Community portal. This portal is for non-member use only. Also, FFA members should not be given invitations generated for AgEd Only students. AgEd Only students are not members and can only access the “Non-member” application.
The online application must be submitted prior to 5:00 p.m. EST Feb. 15, 2013. Signature Pages must be mailed postmarked no later than Feb. 22, 2013.
Advisors who are new to AgCN should contact their state FFA staff for login information. Otherwise, please direct AgCN and/or membership questions to either state FFA staff or 317-802-6060. Email scholarship questions to [log in to unmask].
