Teachers,
The Area *VI* and Area *V* Welding Contest is only a month away. Each
teacher who plans to attend should register, so that enough materials can
be secured for this event. Please click the link below for registration.
*On the registration site there will be a question that will ask how many
Chapters would be interested in bringing a 2nd complete team to the Welding
Contest. Since this is not an official CDE this MAY be a possibility. The
number of chapters who indicate an interest will dictate whether bringing a
2nd team is a possibility. This determination will be made as soon as
possible, and a notice will be sent out informing you either way. *

The *Area VI* Welding Contest will be held on *March 19th at Ware County
High School. *
Registration will begin at *1pm*.
Contest will begin as soon as possible.
*All teams must be registered by 4pm.*
The *Area V* Welding Contest will be held on *March 21st at ABAC*.
Registration will begin at *1pm*.
Contest will begin as soon as possible.

The Welding Contest is comprised of four events. Each team consists of 4
members, with each member completing only one process. The student scoring
the highest at each process will advance to the Top Gun Weld Off. The 4
processes/events are as follows:
- SMAW (Stick)
- GMAW (MIG)
- Oxy-Acetylene Cutting
- Oxy-Acetylene Brazing

Students may bring Welding Electrodes, Brazing Electrodes, Cutting Tips,
and or Brazing Tips they must be available for all teams to use. This means
they must be there by 1 pm and can not be taken until all teams are
complete with each process.
Teachers please be reminded that the Welding Contest is no longer an
Official CDE.
