This is the official notification of recognition for the state Career Development Events that have happened prior to the State Convention. Please read this information carefully, as this is the official notification of winners. No further information will be sent.
Attached is a list of Career Development Event awards that will be presented at the second general session of the 85th State FFA Convention on Friday, April 26 at 8:00 a.m. at the Centreplex in Macon.
Recognized on stage for CDE awards (Jr and Sr divisions) will be:
-the entire first place team and one advisor,
-one representative of the second and third place teams, and
- the top three individuals
These students will be recognized on the Arena stage during the 2nd general session for each state CDE. All award winners listed on the attached form will have reserved seating in sections 19 and 20 during the session they are recognized. Encourage your student to look for the seat reserved for their award area and placing. A mandatory rehearsal will be held for all award winners at 7:30 a.m. Friday morning in the Arena. Award winners should arrive early and find their seats. Let your students know that a member of the convention staff will come and get them from their assigned seat and take them back stage to be prepped for their on-stage recognition. It will be important that each award winner is in the correct chair and on time!
If you have a student sitting in for another student to receive an award, please be sure that the substitute student is aware of the award, and the student they are filling in for.
CDE award winners must be present to receive their awards and should be in complete official FFA dress. Pictures will be made of winners and sponsors. We would like for all the winners to wear a FFA jacket, white collared shirt, black dress pants or skirt, and a tie or scarf for the pictures.
Please let me know if you have questions. Congratulations to all winners.
