Teachers,

According to the National Weather Service, portions of Georgia are due to be hit with more serious winter weather. Many schools have already confirmed closings for the next couple of days and more closings are expected. Realizing that students and teachers in some parts of the state will likely miss some school through the middle of this week, the deadline for submitted Proficiency Award applications has been extended for all chapters until Monday, February 17.

All proficiency applications must be received in the appropriate Region Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, or submitted electronically (in final format) by that deadline.

Any application not received in the Region Office by 5:00 p.m. Monday will not be considered. If your applications are finished and you are able, please feel free to go ahead and submit prior to Monday. Early submissions are always accepted!

* If you mail/ship applications, please ask for guaranteed delivery by Saturday,February 15, as it may take the University mail center at all three offices a day to sort and deliver to the AgEd office.
* If you drive in to the Region Office please be sure to arrive before 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
* If you submit electronically, please be sure to follow the electronic submission guidelines and be sure that the application is in final format including all signatures and that the message is delivered.

If you have any questions, feel free to call on me. I pray that you and your students have a safe week.
