Attached is the list of the 2014 State Proficiency Award finalists.

The Region winners in each proficiency award category were named State Finalists. However, you may notice that some categories have two finalists from the same Region. If a category did not have 3 finalists (meaning a Region did not have an entry), then the 2nd place applications from the applicable Regions were pulled up for consideration to be named the third State Finalist. All students listed as State Finalists will have equal opportunity to be named the State Winner.

State Proficiency Finalists will interview on Thursday, May 1, at the State FFA Convention in Macon. The interview score will be added to the paper score that the applications will receive from a panel of current and retired Agricultural Education teachers. Those two scores will be used to determine the State Winner. The results of the proficiency award program will be announced live on stage during the 3rd general session of the 86th Georgia FFA Convention at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2.

A specific interview schedule will be posted by Monday, April 7. If you know any reason why your student will not be able to attend the interview on May 1, please let me know by April 1.

If you have questions, please let me know. Congratulations to these students and their Agricultural Education teachers, and to all students who turned in a proficiency award application this year.
