Some additional project examples from the 2013-2014 LTS: Environmental Grantees:

Flippin FFA (AR) is operating a school-wide recycling program to recycle the schools paper, plastic, and aluminum waste.  The chapter educated students and teachers at the school on the importance and value of recycling to their community.

Mayport Coastal FFA (FL) created “The Sherman Creek FFA Tributaries and Watershed Service Learning Project” to help monitor the water quality of Sherman Creek and its tributaries’.  FFA members are providing weekly real-time scientific data to Jacksonville University, the University of North Florida, and the St. Johns River Keeper to assist in determining and interpreting how tributaries may affect the quality of the St. Johns River.

Tombstone FFA (AZ) partnered with the Arizona Department of Fish and Game to help relocate Pronghorn Antelope populations this school year.
