In partnership with the Georgia State Florist Association a teacher/student
floral design clinic will be held August 9th and 10th at the Georgia FFA
Camp in Covington.  This camp will allow both students and teachers to
learn from some of the most talented designers in Georgia.  Instructors
will cover topics from the basics of design and mechanics to high style
design construction.  This clinic will be the only floral design workshop
offered this year taking the place of workshops offered within each region.

Mr. Randy Wooten, Georgia State Florist Association President has
graciously offered to find sponsors to help alleviate some of the cost of
the clinic for attendees.  Attendees will take home all designs they make
during the 2 day clinic as well as extra product/hardgoods purchased for
their use.  The cost to attend the clinic which includes lodging, meals,
tshirt and all product/floral material is $75 per person.  Payment must be
received by July 14th.  Checks can be made out to South Region Ag Ed and
need to be designated FLORAL DESIGN CLINIC.  Send payment to:

This is a hands on clinic so each attendee will need to bring the following:
floral shears/floral scissors (NOT regular scissors)
hand held pruners
needle nose pliers
wire cutters
5 gallon bucket to hold product

This clinic is open to both teachers and students with no limit on the
number of students a teacher can bring.  The total capacity for the clinic
is 300 (count will include teachers and students) so first come, first
served!  Registration is now open and will close once 300 attendees have
registered.   Students will be divided into two groups (junior and senior
designers).  Designate on the registration sheet how many junior designers
and how many senior designers you will bring as product will vary per
group.  Due to the nature of this clinic advance preparation and ordering
is necessary therefore we will only allow those who have registered to
attend so no extras can be added on site.  If you need to make a name
change at registration that will be fine.  There will be no refunds given.

Agenda for the 2 day clinic:
Saturday, August 9th
1pm -- registration (Mobley Hall) and cabin check in
2pm -- Welcome, Introduction of Instructors, Orientation, Division of
Students
2:30pm -- First clinic session
5:30pm -- First clinic session ends
6pm -- dinner
7:30pm -- Second clinic session
9pm -- Ice Cream Social (patio)

Sunday, August 10th
7:30am -- breakfast
8:30am -- Third clinic session
noon -- lunch
1:30pm -- Fourth clinic session
3pm -- Conclusion of clinic, cleanup and cabin check out

Items needed during the stay at camp:
sleeping bag OR twin sheet set
pillow
towels
toiletry items
school appropriate clothing
