Subject: Letter concerning PEDv from Georgia Department of Agricultural.
Please find attached a letter from Dr. Cobb, State Veterinarian concerning the PEDv outbreak in Georgia. Additional information will be coming from GDA next week.
Please distribute this to all swine exhibitors.
In the meantime I would recommend that all pigs that were at the show in Perry be isolated from other swine and that they remain in isolation for the next 3 weeks. If you have previously made arrangements to sell your pigs over the next couple weeks, I would recommend that you confirm those arrangements as I am hearing that a number of the buyers within the state are now choosing not to buy pigs that were exhibited in Perry.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of assistance.
