Please join and get your questions answered during the webinar's live Q&A text chat session. Both students and administrators are welcome to join. There will be enough time for questions on Amsterdam, housing and visa services, and life and VU University Amsterdam. The webinar will be recorded, and a link to the recording will be sent to everyone who registers, so please feel free to register even if the timing doesn't work for you.

The Honors Program will present an information session on major scholarships on Thursday, March 19 from 4:00-6:00pm in the North Psychology-Journalism (PJ) Auditorium. Speak to a representative of the new Schwarzman Scholarship and stay for an extended information session to learn about other external scholarships and fellowships (Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Gates, Churchill, Carnegie, Udall, Goldwater, Truman, Erasmus Mundus). The program will include overviews of the major graduate and undergraduate awards. The program is open to both Honors and non-Honors students.

    Summer/Fall 2015 UGA Transfer Credit Approval Forms (TCAF) and STEX Registration for External & Exchange Students (top)
    This is a reminder for students attending a UGA Exchange Program, Non-UGA Program, or UGA Independent Experience Abroad Program to submit a completed the Transfer Credit Approval Form (TCAF) before departure. 

    The TCAF serves as a pre-approval of your transfer credit and helps maintain your eligibility for HOPE and financial aid while abroad. Students attending a UGA Faculty-Led program or a UGA Residential Center Program will receive resident credit instead and do not need to complete the TCAF.

    Upon completion of the TCAF, you also have to register for a STEX placeholder course through Athena. Submitting your official transcript to Education Abroad will replace your STEX placeholder class after program completion.

For individual attention, we recommend visiting a peer advisor during walk-in hours for quick questions.     Looking to study abroad in Amsterdam, the Netherlands for a semester?   VU University Amsterdam is a state-funded university with about 23,000 students and 2,500 academic staff. With almost 60 Bachelor’s degree programs and over 100 Master’s degree programs, VU University offers a wide choice of study options. VU University Amsterdam offers about 300 Bachelor-level classes taught in English. At some faculties, Master’s courses are also open for exchange students. Course subjects include arts & culture and social sciences, neuroscience and computer science, to economics and business administration. The programs are high quality, the atmosphere is very conducive to studying and the teaching staff are easily accessible. VU University provides an inspirational educational setting in which students from the Netherlands and abroad can fully develop their potential. It’s an international student-friendly campus.     The UGA à Paris Study Abroad Program has only ONE spot left for students who are interested in studying abroad this summer in Paris. The program allows you to spend 6 weeks in Paris and to earn 6 credit hours towards your degree. It offers courses in International Affairs, Geography, Communication Studies, History, and Sociology.  All classes are taught in English by UGA faculty. 

     
    2015 Program Dates are May 14 until June 25. Students are housed on the campus. The program is fee $5,995.  If you are on HOPE you can use it towards tuition. If you are an out-of-state student you pay in-state tuition rates for classes taken on the program.

For summer or Maymester programs, Discover Abroad released the application for 5 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. These scholarships are open to students participating on a Discover Abroad program this May or summer term with an interest in sustainability and who demonstrate financial need.     Worried about funding your trip abroad? UGA Costa Rica has scholarship awards available from $500-$1,000 through its Foundation Incentive Scholarship.     ISA Florianópolis, Brazil is currently accepting applications for the customized UGA program. Spend 8 weeks in Florianópolis, Brazil starting on June 12, 2015. The program is specifically designed with UGA's Portuguese Flagship and FLAS programs in mind to improve fluency in Portuguese. Program includes a service-learning opportunity, individualized host families, and excursions. Approximate price is $6750.

    The Taiwan United States Alliance (TUSA) Ambassador Scholarship provides students from the United States a unique opportunity to intensively study Chinese Language (Mandarin) and immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture over a period of 2 months.     There are a number of Santander Scholarships worth £500 (approx. 755USD/655€) available to students applying to Leeds International Summer School (LISS) from the following countries: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Germany, Ghana, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Spain, UAE, Uruguay and the USA.

    LISS is an exciting four-week programme running from 3rd July to 2nd August 2015, combining world-class tuition, with experiential field trips and a wide variety of cultural and social activities.  It offers a fantastic chance for students to experience British university life and culture, as well as earning academic credit which can be transferred back to their home university degree. As well as living and studying in the cosmopolitan, student city of Leeds participants will also have the chance to explore London where the programme will end.

    LISS is an all-inclusive programme. The programme fee of £2855 includes tuition, accommodation, social programme, ALL field trips and excursions and full gym membership. Students who are awarded the Santander Scholarship will receive a £500 discount off the programme fee.

    The Irish Archaeology Field School (IAFS) is seeking the 2015 Trainee Volunteer. Applications are preferred from (undergrad/grad) students, with experience in field excavation and relevant lab work, for the summer excavation programme at the Blackfriary Community, Heritage and Archaeology Project.

    There are a limited number of positions voluntary training posts open; suitable candidates should have a minimum of 12 weeks cumulative experience. Positions are available in Excavation, Community Archaeology, Bioarchaeology and Post Excavation.

    This project includes archaeological research and investigation at the site of a medieval friary in the Anglo-Norman town of Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland. Preliminary findings are published here. Previous trainee volunteers have used the opportunity to develop skills and resources for undergraduate and graduate research projects, with some incorporating project findings (some of these are detailed here).
