Peace Corps Campus Ambassadors: Application open
Application Deadline: Thursday, April 30, 2015
Website and Information<>
Apply Now<>

Campus Ambassadors are university students who work closely with Peace Corps' profile on campus and introduce it to new and diverse student groups. The program offers a prestigious internship-like experience, only the Ambassadors are considered local experts, not interns. They know their campus better than anyone, and help recruiters connect with new groups of students. Ambassadors receive training, a T-shirt, and swag, then share their enthusiasm for making a difference through a life-changing and cross-cultural experience.

Summer/Fall 2015 UGA Transfer Credit Approval Forms (TCAF) and STEX Registration for External & Exchange Students (top)
This is a reminder for students attending a UGA Exchange Program, Non-UGA Program, or UGA Independent Experience Abroad Program to submit a completed Transfer Credit Approval Form (TCAF) before departure.

The TCAF serves as a pre-approval of your transfer credit and helps maintain your eligibility for HOPE and financial aid while abroad. Students attending a UGA Faculty-Led program or a UGA Residential Center Program will receive resident credit instead and do not need to complete the TCAF.

Upon completion of the TCAF, you also have to register for a STEX placeholder course through Athena. Submitting your official transcript to Education Abroad will replace your STEX placeholder class after program completion.

For More Info: Contact Education Abroad at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> with questions. You may access the TCAF here<>.

As the poorest, least-developed region of Morocco, there is a lot of need here for volunteers. The Moroccan staff for the program have worked with Peace Corps Volunteers for over 10 years and have extensive experience organizing volunteer events, working with NGOs, and leading travel excursions. They are well-connected in the community, knowledgeable about the area’s geography, history, language, and traditions, and a fine example of famous Moroccan hospitality.

The program dates for this year are July 31, 2015 to August 15, 2015 and the cost is $975. All expenses are included with the exception of a few travel-day meals and the plane ticket. Volunteers will stay with carefully selected host families (2 volunteers per family).

Mornings will be dedicated to volunteer work such as planting trees, painting, clean-up, installing trash cans where there are none, constructing a tire playground, and conducting a day-camp for disadvantaged kids in a nearby village. Afternoons will consist of crash-course language and history lessons and a host of cultural activities including Moroccan cooking lessons, nomad picnics, henna and hammam trips, and lots of hiking and exploring the natural wonders of the area. The program also includes a weekend trip to the famous sand dunes of Merzouga where volunteers can ride camels and 4x4s, go sandboarding, and sleep under the stars.
