Teachers,
The Department of Agriculture is no longer passing out the 840 EID tags to teachers, agents or exhibitors.
They are still passing them out to Veterinarians. If you still need the 840 EID tags, contact your vet. that you use for bleeding the pigs and have them order the tags.
*Important Application tips for EID tags:
- Use the red blunt pin and remove the black insert from the base of the jaws.
- Be sure that the “bump” or raised portion of the tag which encloses the transponder chip, is placed in the open portion (facing out) of the jaws.
If your vet. cannot get their hands on the tags they can be purchased online.
