The 2015 Lessons From Abroad Georgia Conference is almost here! You can still register here as well as on-site the day of the conference ($20 general registration). The conference schedule is below:

·         Register: Online general registration is available here, and participants can also register on-site. Lunch and snacks are included. For universities registering 5 or more students, you still receive 1 free faculty/staff registration.

International Education is a growing and exciting career field. In this session, we’ll discuss the various sectors of the field and ways to gain necessary experience and skills to be a competitive candidate.         

Graduate Schools Abroad                                                                            

Everything you need to know about finding graduate opportunities overseas, applying, and finding funding opportunities.

Go Abroad Again: Work, Teach, Intern, and Volunteer Overseas                       

Hear from a panel of international educators about how you can go abroad again through a variety of ways! Students thinking about working, teaching, or volunteering overseas should attend this session to ask questions and begin planning their next adventure abroad.

Beyond “Marketing Your Study Abroad Experience”: Using ePortfolios to Showcase Learning Abroad      

In contrast to traditional resumes, professional ePortfolios allows students to visually represent learning experiences on study abroad programs to employers and graduate schools by creating artifacts (photos, essays, videos, etc.). This interactive session will outline what constitutes an ePortfolio, address the relevance of ePortfolios in today's job market, and demonstrate the ease of creating a personal website. NOTE: This session is designed to build upon the Résumés, Cover Letters and Interviews session. Students are encouraged to attend Resumes, Cover Letters & Interviews prior to this session.

Reverse Culture Shock                                                                                       

We have all heard of culture shock, but what is reverse culture shock? If you have spent time in a different culture, you might have experienced it. This session will discuss what it is, how to recognize it and how to deal with it.

Living an Internationally Focused Life & How to Get an International Career   

"How can I find a job abroad?" This session will help you navigate an international job search and the realities of living and working abroad. If your dream of living abroad isn't possible at the moment, that doesn't mean your life can't still be international! In this session, find out how to continue your cultural learning on and off campus.
