Subject: 2016 Scholarship Application Is Live
Importance: High

Dear State FFA Staff:

The new 2016 Scholarship Application went live Nov. 15, 2015.

Students access the application through FFA.org.  FFA members create FFA.org accounts using an Invite code generated by their FFA advisors.  Students who created accounts in the former Agricultural Career Network (AgCN) will sign in using those credentials.

Advisors log into FFA.org to renew rosters and issue invitations.  Advisors who do not already have an FFA.org login should obtain one from state staff.  FFA members must be renewed and active on the chapter roster for advisors to issue invitations.  Invite codes appear by member names on the active roster.  Invitations can be generated individually or by using the “Bulk Action” option.

Reminder:  Under no circumstances should an FFA member create an account as a Community Member.  “Community” is for non-member use only and sends students to the non-member applicationFFA members submitting a “non-member” application are not eligible for scholarships with membership criteria.  (Submitting more than one application is grounds for disqualification.)

Membership status is checked before judging begins.  Only students with a current, active membership status will be eligible to compete for scholarships.  The deadline to ensure active membership is March 1, 2016.  National FFA will not contact states during judging to confirm status.

The Monsanto Fund is again offering 352 America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders scholarships through this program.  To qualify, applicants must obtain three electronic farmer endorsements.  Details are available at FFA.org/scholarships (click the America’s Farmers Grow Ag Leaders logo) or at GrowAgLeaders.com.

Students interested in Built Ford Tough scholarships must visit a participating dealer and obtain an endorsement on the 2016 Signature Page.

DEADLINES:  The 2016 scholarship application must be submitted prior to 5 p.m. EST Feb. 1, 2016.

Signature Pages must be mailed postmarked no later than Feb. 8, 2016.
