As you know, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) will be hosting seven FFA state career development events this Saturday, December 5. ABAC is a valuable partner of the AgEd program and the FFA. We are excited to have so many FFA members visiting their campus. If you have teams/students who qualify for state in the following CDEs, please read this information carefully.

It is very important that we have a full slate of students present on that Saturday. If your state CDE contestant(s) is/are NOT planning to attend, please contact the appropriate Superintendent ASAP! By qualifying for this event your student(s) defeated other students who also worked very hard. It is important that each qualifier honor the commitment to their Area by competing at the state level.

There is a large open parking lot that sits across the street from the Agricultural Science Building. That lot will be available for FFA use on Saturday, December 5. Bus parking will be available in that lot. The Chambliss, Yow and Environmental Horticulture buildings are within walking distance of the parking lot and the Agricultural Science building.

There is a variety of fast food and reasonably priced food options just minutes from the ABAC campus.

ABAC will not have lodging available on campus. There are a few hotel options in Tifton for those interested in arriving on Friday evening. We have contacted the following hotels and feel comfortable recommending these locations. Be sure to mention that you are in town for an FFA event on the ABAC campus, as many of these local hotels offer special rates for ABAC events.

-Comfort Inn

-Country Inn & Suites

-Hilton Garden Inn

-Fairfield Inn

Please travel safely. I look forward to seeing you and more than 400 FFA members as we gather at ABAC this Saturday.
