Ag Teachers,

If you have students interested in seeking the opportunity to serve as a State FFA Officer, please share this information with them.

The State FFA Officer Candidate application and handbook have been updated for 2017. Both files are attached to this email, and they are available for download on the Applications portion of the FFA page in the Georgia FFA website (www.georgiaffa.org).

Please notice that the 2017 State Officer Candidate application is different than in previous years. I encourage you to review this material with your student(s).

Candidate Handbook
This handbook reviews and details the entire candidate process. If students have questions about the candidate process, they will likely find that most of their questions can be answered by reviewing the Candidate Handbook. The handbook outlines the election process (nominating committee and popular election), lists references for the candidate exam, and explains the interview process.

Candidate Application
The 2017 State Officer Candidate application is different than in previous years. There is one page to the provided application (an type-able PDF file), then a list of documents that need to be submitted as part of a candidate packet. Each candidate can, within the guidelines described, create and submit their supporting material (letter of application, SAE description, resume, etc…) as they choose. Candidate application packets must be complete in order to be considered. Candidate packets are due to your Region Office by March 1.

If you or your students have any questions, please feel free to give me a call.

Happy New Year!
