Following Secretary Perdue’s memorandum of understanding concerning the partnership between the USDA and FFA, the USDA has created an collegiate internship opportunity targeted towards young leaders with a direct interest in agriculture called One USDA.
The internship is offered to students who have finished at least one year of college by the time the internship starts. One USDA begins this summer and will repeat each semester. The postings are in a variety of cities - including Washington D.C. It is a PAID position based on the GS-2 to GS-5 pay scale (based on location of internship).
The application for summer 2018 internships opens on January 22, 2018 and will remain open for ONE week only. I have attached a document on how to apply to internship programs at USDA, but students can also find the internship postings on USAjobs.gov. Students are encouraged to submit their resume and CV in one PDF.
The USDA hopes to have all offers out by Feb. 23, 2018, depending upon amount of applications received.
If you know of any former students who would excel in this role, please encourage them to apply the week of January 22, 2018.
