On behalf of Georgia 4-H and Georgia FFA we are extremely excited to announce this wonderful joint opportunity of the First Ladyís Agriculture Awareness and Poultry Project.
The Governor and First Lady of Georgia are committed to raising agriculture awareness. Mrs. Kemp invites teams comprised of both Georgia 4-H and Georgia FFA members to carry out a contest that will inform plans for an educational and agricultural awareness poultry project at the Governorís Mansion. Teams of Georgia 4-H and FFA members are charged to provide input and ideas that will influence the design of housing and selection of hens for a flock to be placed on the property at the Georgia Governorís Mansion. The contest details are available using the link below. Please remember that teams must have 4-8 students representing both Georgia 4-H and Georgia FFA (at least two from each organization).
We appreciate the support of Mike Giles and the Georgia Poultry Federation in providing funds for recognition. The overall winning submission will receive a $1,000 grant to support their local programs. The second and third place entries will each receive $500 to support their programs. All teams entering the contest will be invited to the Governorís Mansion for a picnic gathering and opportunity to hear plans for the project. We also appreciate the support and input from the UGA CAES Poultry Science Department.
