Area III and Area IV GVATA members,

We are looking for GVATA members that would be willing to serve on the new
GVATA committees for the coming year. The GVATA membership recently voted
to restructure the committees to make them more meaningful in service to
our organization. The pdf attached to this email explains the vision,
mission, and purpose of each committee. This will be a 2-year minimum
commitment. However, Area 3 volunteers will rotate off in odd years while
Area 4 teachers will rotate off in even years. Next year is an odd

the state FFA convention as a proficiency finalist, please consider
bringing them to Veterans High School on Monday, April 15 at 4:00 PM for
the Central Region Mock Interviews.

In order to make this endeavor effective, please make sure your proficiency
students have their *opening statement (1 minute) created and memorized*.
Also, bring *two printed copies of the proficiency application* and have
them be prepared for questions. They will deliver the 1 minute statement
and answer questions from several different judges in several different

I want to extend a huge congratulations and thanks to all the Central
Region Chapters that participated in our first ever Spanish Creed
Invitational! As I said when I announced the Area 3 results live, I truly
thank all of you for providing a space and opportunity for our Hispanic

amount of teachers and students that took a leap of faith to try a contest

addition to FFA I also coach equestrian for Piedmont and I have called and

greenhouse workshop.
The workshop will take place this summer in Tifton on the ABAC Campus.
We will cover all things Greenhouse, from understanding the plant order
form to insect management to understanding greenhouse controls.

Wiring Handbook (17th Edition) that is used as a reference in the
Agricultural Electrification (EMC wiring) CDE. These books are no longer
available for purchase but have since been made available for a free PDF
download that you can print out for you and your students' use. The books
are hosted on the Midwest Rural Energy Council's website. They are located

We have a great number signed up to participate in the Central Region Lawn
Mower CDEs for Middle and High School. This is a logistics challenge that
will require us to have specific driving times in order to get everyone in
before dark on each day. There are two links below for you to register by

Please remember that each team member will compete in one practicum event,
and all four students must compete in a different practicum, so that each
team has an entry in all four practicums. All practicums will be scored
using Zipgrade. All questions will have 5 answer choices to choose or
guess. General and Aquatic Identification will have coded word banks.
