Teachers of the South Region: -Congratulations to all programs, teachers and students for a successful 2024 Land Judging Event.
-Our event would not have happened without assistance from key individuals that made our contest worthy of your students. Thank You ABAC for the use of facilities and being a gracious host.
-Attached is a Press Release to be used to advertise your program in your community and to other local stakeholders.
We were able to conduct our South Region Employment Skills event yesterday at ABAC. Many schools were not able to join us because they were still recovering from the hurricane. We missed having you all at the event and are continuing to pray for your communities. If you would like feedback on your student's resume and cover letter, please let me know.
Teachers, there is still time to register your team for the Area Farm and Agribusiness Management CDE. Registration will close on Friday, November 1. This is a 4 person team event but is NOT a LDE. There has been some confusion in the past. The area event is only a 50 question multiple choice test. 2024 Farm and Agribusiness Management <chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://georgiaffa.org/docs/Farm_&_Agribusiness_Management_CDE_Revised_2024_59406.pdf>

There has been a little confusion on livestock eval since we moved it from January 2025 to Fall 2024. So hopefully this clears it up.
Each year for most Animal Science contests we have Area tests, each Area test is made according to when the state contest is scheduled. Due to the state contest being scheduled in 2025, this year the Livestock eval and Vet science area test will be over *ODD* chapters and practicums.
The Southeast Georgia Exchange Club Fair will be hosting a Floriculture (only) contest this year.
When: Thursday, October 31st - Contest will begin at 2:00 PM Time: Registration - 1:30 PM; Welcome and first rotation - 2:00 PM Midway will open at 4:00 PM Where: Exact building location TBD by Fair - will be shared as soon as possible

Registration for both Areas will take place in the lobby of the Agriscience Building. We will run three rooms for each event. Prior to the hurricane I developed an interview schedule so that you all would know the exact time of your prelim interview. Before I send that schedule out to you all again, I need to verify that all students still plan to participate. I know

Teachers, many of your systems have said that you cannot transport students in a vehicle other than a bus. This may cause some issues especially with livestock. I have found a solution.... Check out this vehicle. All you need to do is put some side bodies on the back, load the livestock and put the students in the bus! Problem solved! Contact your local transportation director for more information. HA!!
Good afternoon, teachers. It was great to see many of you this past weekend in Perry. I hope that during this busy time, that you take at least some for yourself. This will NOT be a presentation by me, but is intended to be a round table discussion with you to share ideas. I hope to see you there.

Teachers, I pray that this email finds you well. I am very concerned and prayerful for your families and communities because of this horrific storm and its aftermath. When we moved Employment Skills and Land Judging from Thursday because of the storm coming, no one could predict that it would have this large of an impact especially for our Area 6 schools. *With that said, I have decided to move these events to the 14th of October.* This is the Monday before EXPO. Times and location of Land Judging and Employment Skills will remain the same. This gives all of
Back in 2017 I created a lesson for wooden animal banks that was used in an Ag Mech Middle school breakout session at Summer Teachers Conference that year. I also had wooden templates (cow, goat, lamb, horse, and pig) as well as a pig example I brought to the breakout session so that teachers could copy on manilla folders, cut and make templates. Over the course of time and an office move I can not locate these wooden templates. I recall loaning them out to a program and told the instructor to hang on to them until I had

Good afternoon, teachers. As we get one day closer to the potential storm headed our way, I pray that we are all safe while in the midst of and afterward. We, in South Georgia, know all too well how these impact many aspects of our lives.
Additionally, I wanted to send you a list of the RITZ topics that we have come up with for this first semester. You will find those attached. We have had slim participation thus far (2 weeks) but hopefully by knowing what is coming up, you will be more prepared to be a part of
Good morning to you all. We are scheduled for the next round of CDEs on Thursday of this week, ATE, Employment Skills, and Land Evaluation. As you may be aware, there is a storm building in the Gulf area that will quite possibly impact these events. Please know that we are looking at this and will make a call no later than tomorrow if these will be postponed and what the make-up day will be. Please reach out to your administration and ask if they believe you will be able to travel on Thursday and respond to me.

Good afternoon, South Region. I hope that this email finds you well, especially those that were impacted by the latest storm to go through our area. At the summer conference you heard me reference a weekly meeting that we are calling RITZ, Region Inquisitive Teacher Zoom. These will be held on Wednesdays starting September 11 at 4:00. This is not a required meeting for anyone, but an opportunity to share ideas and get answers to AgEd/FFA questions you may have. Good morning. This is your friendly reminder to complete your monthly report. (July 2024) Please make sure that you are covering all of the three circles of Ag Education. Your reports should be completed by the 10th of the month and have: 1. an entry for EVERY day Monday-Friday. (Weekends should definitely be included if you work) 2. a minimum of 20 hours of extended day 3. a minimum of 20 contacts

I have attached two copies of the flyer - one with a blank line to enter your own price. I have also included a flyer with a list of Activities that will be available at Region Rally.
Teachers, attached to this email is a pdf of the sheet that we handed out at the region meeting at Summer Conference. We have made ONE change. Ag Communications will not have an Area component but will be straight to state. We removed it from our list and replaced it with Extemp preliminaries. This moves Extemp to January. I wanted to make you aware of this change.
Good morning teachers. There are several who have not started or completed your 2024-2025 POW. For some of you, its because you were waiting to get access, others it is because it opened but was formatted incorrectly and we shut it down for a period of time. Some started and may have missed a few checkmarks. Please take the time to look at yours and make sure it is completed. This should be done no later than August 1
Good morning teachers. I need to address an issue that occurred at Summer Conference. There were some that did not come into the room during the meeting. In hind site, I should have gone into the hallway and asked you to come in. Not only did I see this but Mr. Hughes and Mr. Lastly also noticed and brought it to my attention after the meeting. This is an embarrassment to me and should be to you as well. It is also very unprofessional. There were plenty of seats in the room. They would not have put us in there

Your reports for June should be completed by the 10th of July and have: 1. an entry for EVERY day Monday-Friday. (Weekends should definitely be included if you work) 2. all of your Extended Year day

I am so excited about tomorrow's Proficiency workshop and wanted to send out one final reminder. If you want to learn how to help your students shine with their SAE projects this year and figure out ways to make that POW check mark a little easier to attain, this is the workshop for you!
In an attempt to help you master proficiency applications so that you can help recognize your students for their SAE projects, we have put together a workshop for you. The purpose of this workshop is to help you understand the components of the proficiency application and give you tips to make them a little easier to complete. Teachers with all experience levels will benefit from this workshop.
Please be reminded that even though you are not working a bell schedule or having to keep and eye on "that kid", your monthly reports are still due on the 10th of each month. Make sure you are keeping up with these.

We have allowed 20 minutes for each evaluation, but if you have everything in place and well documented
*Area 5 teachers*. As you are well aware, your POW evaluations will be conducted by your CTAE Director or other administrator this year. I will be sending out a spreadsheet that has your participation in CDEs/LDEs, area meetings and other items that we keep record of here in our office by Friday of this week. That way if there are questions, we can have those conversations prior to your evaluation. Please do not plan your evaluation prior to receiving this information. Also, below is a link to an evaluation guide that was developed for your administrators to look at to
Also,if you already know you will not be competing, or if between now and then your plans change and have to drop out, please let me know via text, phone call or email.
Thanks,
Y'all have a good weekend.
