We are looking forward to the upcoming Nursery Landscape for Beginners Workshop. I have two open spots that came available today if anyone is interested (which is why I am sending this out on the ListServ).
When: Friday, June 18 Registration: 9:15 AM - 9:30 AM Where: ABAC - 2802 Moore Hwy, Tifton, GA 31793 - Environmental Horticulture Building – Room 131 (#27 on attached map) Parking: North Parking Lot (see attached map) Lunch: Lunch will be on your own
I am so excited about tomorrow's Proficiency workshop and wanted to send out one final reminder. If you want to learn how to help your students shine with their SAE projects this year and figure out ways to make that POW check mark a little easier to attain, this is the workshop for you!
In an attempt to help you master proficiency applications so that you can help recognize your students for their SAE projects, we have put together a workshop for you. The purpose of this workshop is to help you understand the components of the proficiency application and give you tips to make them a little easier to complete. Teachers with all experience levels will benefit from this workshop.
Please be reminded that even though you are not working a bell schedule or having to keep and eye on "that kid", your monthly reports are still due on the 10th of each month. Make sure you are keeping up with these.

Teachers, I have had a few emails concerning these American Degrees about "having submitted a degree but it's not on the list". Remember, you must add it to the submission list. Just because it is finished (all items met) does not put it on the submission list. Please call me if you have any questions about how to do this. It is the same process as proficiency applications and state degrees.
Please be reminded that* today is the deadline *to submit American Degree Applications. All these are through the Application Manager (like state degrees and proficiency) and not the South Region Application Email.

It is with a sad heart that I inform you of the passing of Mr. Tommy Waldrop. Tommy served as a Young Farmer Advisor in Ben Hill and served the South Region as the Animal Science Area Teacher. He retired in 2019. He was a big advocate for students and Ag Education. Please remember his family in your prayers.

Teachers, as we work everyday and involve ourselves in the lives of students, inevitably there will be times of concern and need. I got a message this morning from Pataula Charter that one of their officers, Jacqueline, was injured in an ATV accident while working on her SAE project. She is in Birmingham in critical condition and they are requesting your prayers. Thank you, Ag Ed Family!

They will be judged online through the App Manager. It is very important that these applications are NOT submitted in-person or to the application email. I know it can be very confusing to remember which applications are submitted which way. I have included everything you

There were four empty categories from other regions where we could have submitted our second place if we had another proficiency in that category. Our goal for next year is for every category to have two submissions and to increase the quality of

Good morning and Happy New Year! I hope that you all enjoyed your time away from the classroom during the holidays. A friendly reminder to register your students for the Prepared Public Speaking LDE. It closes on the 19th, so there is still time. You must register your student and submit copies (4) of your manuscripts. The best way to submit these manuscripts is to bring them to Mid-Winter Conference. In fact, I would prefer that. Let me know if you have any questions.
Please see the memo below from Matt Burks at SGTC in Americus:
Attached is our 2024 John Deere Open House invitation for January 31st 2024 Just wanted to pass this alone to any and all of the FFA chapters that may have some potential students in the program in the future.
