I hope everyone has had the opportunity to get some rest. We have rescheduled our *General Body Meeting to this Thursday *(02/29) at 7 PM in *Wilson Pharmacy 120 *(different location!). In light of recent events, we have *CANCELED* tonight's General Body Meeting. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but prioritize the wellbeing and safety of our members and our community as a whole. Hi everyone, There was a mistake in my email and the graphic - the blood drive on Thursday is at Tate student Center! It should have said that in the sign up for donating and volunteering, but in case you missed that, I wanted to make sure everyone was informed on where to go. Thank you!
This email is a reminder of our first blood drive of the semester with UGA Red Cross this Thursday, February 15th 11:30-4:30 at Memorial Hall! The American Red Cross has declared a national blood shortage, so it is so important that we get people to donate blood and save lives! If you donate, you will receive 2 points, and if you volunteer or work at the tables, you will receive 1 point. ***If you’ve donated recently, you CANNOT donate within 56 DAYS of your last time donating blood!!*** I have loved seeing AMSA’s involvement in these blood drives,
Happy Monday! This week and next week, we will be having *Exec Takeovers* each day on our Instagram story! This is a glimpse into our "day in our lives" and the responsibilities of each position. Thank you for coming to our first GBM of the semester! The *January Newsletter *is attached with registration information, links to various forms, donation drive information, and all upcoming events, workshops, etc. until the next GBM. The Microbiology Department is hosting a series of workshops in February called the "Professional Development Series". Our last *General Body Meeting is TONIGHT (11/30) at 7 PM* in Pharmacy South 101! Join us as we wrap the semester up and hear about what is left this semester + what is to come! I just wanted to forward information sent to us that the *AU/UGA Medical Partnership's Teaching Clinics* are accepting undergrads for the upcoming semester! This is an INCREDIBLE opportunity to work alongside doctors and medical students from the Athens medical campus, gain clinical/volunteering experience, and give back to the community. Both Dhanush, our Co-President, and I are involved in this program, so feel free to reach out if you have any specific questions about the program! I have attached the flyer to this email; the deadline to apply has been extended to *11/29 at 2 PM*.
I hope everyone had a fun, restful break! Unfortunately, we're in that weird last-two-weeks stretch of the year now, but you've got this! I have some reminders about the second half of homecoming week.
Remember homecoming events are simple ways to get involved with UGA and get points for AMSA towards your membership and in the Spirit of Homecoming competition. Don’t forget - it’s already November, and you need *10 points* to be considered an active AMSA member per semester.
Next Wednesday, November 8th, at 7:00-8:30 PM we will have our November social event, a holiday potluck!! I want everyone to be able to bring their favorite holiday (or non-holiday) food item that reminds them of this season or your traditions or just your favorite meal! This is a great opportunity to meet more members and be able to learn more about other people and what reminds them of the holiday season. I really want to see a higher attendance for this event because the attendees will be bringing food, but I will also provide food that everyone

Just as a reminder, we are hosting *Workshop #2: Pre-Med Opportunities and Career Development *tonight in *Pharmacy South 101 at 7 PM*! Attendance is one point (if you are part of the mentor-mentee program and attend with your mentor/mentee, attendance is 2 points!). We hope to see you there!
In addition, I wanted to share information about an organization one of our AMSA members is spreading the word about, the pre-Student Osteopathic Medical Association (pre-SOMA). We have our second blood drive with UGA Red Cross this upcoming Wednesday, October 18th 11:30-4:30 at the Tate Reception Hall! This blood drive, specifically, is our blood battle against UF, so we want to try to get as many people to donate blood as possible to beat them! We only have one in-person event this week, and that is *TONIGHT (09/26) at Sanford Hall room 109 at 7 PM!* This will be our very first *workshop* and will cover the process of *applying to medical school*, which may be especially helpful for juniors and seniors applying soon, and even freshmen/sophomores interested in learning about the process.
*Trivia Night is TONIGHT *at 6 PM in Pharmacy South 101! Come out and have a good time destressing and playing trivia with other members (+1 point event). We also have a collaborative *Red Cross Blood Drive* with other organizations on campus tomorrow (09/20) from 11:30-4:30 PM, and this has opportunities to both volunteer working the drive or to donate blood! Donating blood is +2 points, and volunteering for the event is 1 point. Time slots to volunteer for the drive itself are filled, but a couple of
