Hi colleagues.
I do the original cataloging of maps at UCSC, and have a question about
selecting the date to use in the map call number when the map says
"Laufzeit" and a year.
Today I am cataloging the map Mitteleuropa, autokarte, a Freytag, Berndt
und Artaria map. ISBN 3850842169 (brings up several records in OCLC).
On the map margin is "Laufzeit 12/2007".
I question using 2007 as the date in the map call number, but the note says
Laufzeit [good through] 2007. Ordinarily I would use the date, I guess I
hesitate since 2007 is 2 years ahead.
Typically I might receive a map in 2005 with the note "Laufzeit, good
through, 2005" on it, so there isn't a conflict in that situation.
Any input will be appreciated.
