Dear MAPS-L Subscribers,
Can anyone help this guy?
"For a project I'm currently working on I need the course of the Pan
American Highway through Mexico. Unfortunately I don't have much
information, and it contradicts itself quite a bit.
According to the convention signed in Argentina in 1936, the course through
Mexico is:
Nuevo Laredo-Monterrey-Ciudad Victoria-Ciudad
Valles-Tamazunchale-Pachuca-Mexico City-Puebla-Izucar de
Matamoros-Oaxaca-Tehuantepec-Tuxtla Gutierrez-San Cristobal de Las
Casas-Ciudad Cuauhtemoc (and furtheron through Guatemala to Guatemala City
and so on).
According to another source the highway enters Mexico in Ciudad Juarez
(across from El Paso, TX) and goes further via
Chihuahua-Durango-Zacatecas-Aguascalientes-Salamanca to Mexico City, where
it gets kind of lost until San Cristobal de Las Casas-Ciudad Cuauhtemoc.
Has anybody more updated information on the "Panamericana"?
I'd appreciate any help I can get about a more precise course.
Thanks,
Roland
