The 'Map History / History of Cartography' site now has its own
Index. This means there is alternative access via the two
standard Web principles: Directory (subject tree) and
alphabetical Index. The Index also gives a better impression of
the site's range, and serves to highlight those topics that
comprise original text rather than just links.
Please comment on the usefulness, suggest extra terms, and let me
know if the Index outputs strangely on your browser. Creating this
has exposed (again) my technical limitations. Is there a *simple*
way to get the alphabetical index letter alongside the first entry
for the letter, rather than above it?
Please respond now, while you think about it, but I will be away
until the end of the month.
To the webmasters/mistresses among you. If you have provided a
link to this site and pointed to its Main Menu
<...maps/mapsmnu.html > can I ask that you point instead to the
Welcome page <...maps/welcome.html > so that users have the
choice of the two access routes.
* check out the 'What's New' link on a regular basis *
