To everybody, the book _
Map use: reading, analysis, and interpretation, 4th ed., by Phillip C.
Muehrcke and Juliana O. Muehrcke, Madison, Wisc.: JP Publications, 1998,
has useful tables in appendix E.
E.6 is "Variations in the Length of a Degree of Latitude (measured along
the meridian)";
E.7 is "Variations in the Length of a Degree of Longitude (measured along
the parallel)".
Both are given in meters and statute miles.
to Megan: if your library does not have this book, let me know and I can
fax the tables to you. Each is only one page.
