Subject: Political intervention in aerials

One of my student workers just showed me an aerial that was a good example
of the kind of thing others have been posting here.
He is researching a site in Tel Aviv, and requested an aerial from the
municipal authorities. When it arrived, he was disconcerted because it was
obviously the wrong one--it was of a site dominated by an enormous green
park. But examining it carefully he realized the streets matched up with the
desired site. Had a park been installed since August (when he last visited
the site in person)? Finally, he realized that the area on the aerial
presented as park land consists in reality of a complex of military
administrative buildings. Rather than blanking them out, the authorities
insert a park.
This may be an old story, but it was news to me!
