We often acquire duplicates and have one copy classified separately and one
with the set.  We had a large buckram box made up that holds the loose
sheets for the set.

Hi  Cheryl

The University of Florida catalogs the National Atlas maps individually just
as Penn State and U of Georgia do.  We want to have the best possible
subject access to the materials.  These special topics maps are too diverse
to be have sufficient access for us if we were to cataloged them as a
series.  Most if not all of the National Atlas maps have cataloging copy
available on OCLC and/or GPO cataloging.

Cheryl,

Sorry for the slow reply, I just returned from the SLA Annual Conference in
San Antonio. Both here at Penn State University and at my former
institution, the Univ. of Georgia, we catalog these as separate monographic
titles since each sheet is based on a specific topic. I'm guessing that you
would find this to be true for most institutions who catalog the National
Atlas titles.
