Dear Historical Geographers:

The latest issue of the AAG Historical Geography Specialty Group
Newsletter is available online at the link below:

http://www.geog.okstate.edu/hgsg/pplace/pplace.index.htm

The current issue includes among other items: a column from HGSG
President Jeanne Kay Guelke; forum discussion on historical GIS (HGIS)
by Anne Kelly Knowles, Peter Bol, David Bodenhammer, and Michael
Goodchild; a report from student research award winner Jolanda Youngs;
the treasurer's report; and announcements of this year's HGSG student
paper and research prize winners. As usual I welcome comments on any of
the content, ongoing news items, as well as ideas for forum discussions
for upcoming issues.

Best wishes,

Gareth E. John, Editor
