Hi everyone,

Western Association of Map Libraries (WAML) will be meeting September
13-18 in Flagstaff at Northern Arizona University. Information is now

Highlights of the program include:

“John Wesley Powell, Surveying and Mapping the Grand Canyon”,
“Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center - GIS Activities”
“Digitization Projects at NAU,”
Workshop – “Introduction to Geographic Exploration Systems: Google Earth
and WorldWind”
“The Creation of the Global GIS and Possible Future Directions”
“Climate Change and Lake Powell,”
USGS Astrogeology Presentations on on Planetary Nomenclature, Mars
topographic mapping, and “RPIF”s or Regional Planetary Image Facilities,
our program will include a brief onsite visit.

Field trip: North Rim of the Grand Canyon
Pre-conference option: Walnut Canyon National Monument
Post-conference option: South Rim of the Grand Canyon (via private
vehicles).
Please note that the registration and payment deadline is August 25.
