write-up
A double-spread article by Tim Walker appeared in /The Independent’/s
‘minimalist’ version – /i/ – on Thursday last, 22 March (pp.[36]-37).
Entitled ‘Graphic design, ahead of its time’ it is a favourable write-up
of the book /Cartographies of Time: A History of the Timeline/
(Princeton Architectural Press), £22.50 [the total data – /i.e./, not
even ISBN(s) - given for identifying this book]. Six images from c.1516
to 1931 – of which five are ‘in glorious technicolour’ – save on having
to write too much text . . .
One currently ‘topical’ item illustrated (b&w) is that headed ‘Marconi
Telegraph. | Communication Chart. | April 1912. | North Atlantic’: “In
the column for 11 April, 1912, is a familiar name: the /Titanic/.”
