Hello colleagues,
I'm trying to explore what ranges of photoperiod sensitivity exist in corn. I'm interested in measurements (controlled environment or field experiments) evaluating this response.

CERES-Maize calculates this effect using a genetic coefficient input (P2). The usual range for all cultivars reported in the genotype file in DSSAT is within 0-1. However, there are a couple of genotypes from India (Ageti and Partap) having P2=2.0. I wonder how different are these cultivars from other tropical cultivars in the same file with P2 values of less than 1.0.

Does anyone in the list can provide further information/discussion or can point at references in the literature discussing this issue and showing evaluations?

Thanks,

Jon Lizaso
