Hi,
WeatherMan is a good option if the file is suitably formatted. Over the years, I have found that people format daily weather data in very different ways. In Excel, this includes placing each variables on a different sheet with months as columns.
I keep a family of SAS programs that are configured for different formats. These output more or less DSSAT ready wth files (sometimes there are large blocks of missing values which I prefer to handle with WeatherMan).
Best regards,

Hi Sebastian,

In case you haven't noticed, there is a tool exist for the weather data management, including importing from XLS, called the WeatherMan. This tool comes with the DSSAT program. I believe the WeatherMan is the correct way.

Cheers,
Jawoo

Hi Sebastian,

If you can use R, I have some code that produces .wth file formats, which
you could modify fairly easily to read in from .xls files (my version reads
in from other text files).

Let me know, and I will be happy to send along.

Best, Lyndon
