Dear Friends;

A friend of mine who is now working on barley model in Poland got troble
with the calibration of the genetic coefficients. The following message
is his explanation.

"Now we are adjusting (calibrating)genetic parameters for barley. As a
point of start we have taken var. Proctor that proved to be the most
promising in order to get good accuracy in our conditions. After little
adjusting some parameters of this variety we obtained satisfied accuracy
for 14 treatments. The relative root mean squared error of prediction in
a case of grain yield was about 11%.We have some difficulties, when we
tried (acciedently) effects of sowing date we proved that later sowing
date for one or two days caused decreasing of grain yield about 1.5
t/ha. It is something impossible. We are not able to explain what the
reason for it is."

ANYBODY CAN HELP ? PLEASE.
